Behavior Is Better Than Belief
Today, I just have some points for you to consider: After 300 years of church history, the Council of Nicea still found only a paragraph’s worth of doctrine important enough to encapsulate in a creed. The foundation of God, according … Continue reading

Pleading for Sin and Pleading for Righteousness
A friend mentioned I hadn’t posted in nearly a month. I’ve been working on my book about the Council of Nicea. 10 chapters done, 1 chapter to write, and 9 to edit. I also have to edit the glossaries. I … Continue reading

What Are the Implications of an Old Earth for Christians?
I really love our God, and I believe he’s way stronger than our ideas. He can take care of us even while we enjoy searching out the truth. Those who seek find. He doesn’t give snakes to children who ask for eggs. Let us not be “ye of little faith,” but let us address him as Father and trust him as children. Continue reading

Imperative-Indicative and Performance-Acceptance
Give them time, give them love, give them rebuke, give them forgiveness, promise them rewards (real ones, not made-up ones); do whatever you have to do, but help them live for Jesus, and pay the price of suffering and time to help it happen. Continue reading
Righteousness and the Man to Whom God Will Not Impute Sin
I’m going to try a very theological post for those who have struggled with some of the same questions concerning faith and works that I have. Romans 4:6-8 says: David describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes … Continue reading

The Righteousness of God
I’ve named several posts the Righteousness of God (I think). How could I describe the righteousness of God in one post? In fact, how could I describe the righteousness of God at all? In the end, the righteousness of God … Continue reading

The True Sacrifices of God
So why doesn’t God want another young bull or even a single male goat from the Israelites? There’s actually two reasons … but we modern Christians have adopted one particular error that stops us from noticing one of those reasons. Continue reading
